18 02 2009

By now everyone has heard the rumors about Chris Brown allegedly abusing his girlfriend Rihanna. The story goes that last week at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party rumors soared that Chris Brown, 19, and Rihanna ,20, were arguing after Brown received a text message from another girl. Both were absent from the Grammy’s award show where they were scheduled to perform.

Later that night reports claimed that a woman dialed 911 after hearing a woman scream. The woman was Rihanna, who denied medical help but was photographed by police because of the bruises on her face.

Chris Brown, who has turned himself to the LAPD is now awaiting a March 5th court date on a felony charge, apologizes and in counseling according to Spin magazine.

Project Jenny, Project Jan : “XOXOXOXOXO” (Review)

11 02 2009

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume you listen to amazing music. On that note, Project Jenny, Project Jan is worth a listen, and is definitely a keep. The male duo (yes, they’re men, disregard the name) hail from Brooklyn and sport a sound that is versatile and catchy. In their album XOXOXOXOXO, you can hear bits of everything– electronic, rap, show tunesy, a bit of country– a sound that is utterly and entirely unique. And the vocals do not disappoint. The band is strong on all levels, and you can dance to all of their songs.

Here is a video of one of my favorite songs off the album, “320”

Lily Allen graces the covers of such magazines as Spin, Nylon and Billboard, promoting the release of her second album “It’s Not Me, It’s You”. Her latest album is slated for release next Tuesday, the 9th of February but fans can listen to the entire album before its release on Allen’s Myspace page. The first single off of her album is entitled “The Fear,” video below. Since the release of her debut album “Alright, Still” Allen hasn’t been a stranger to headlines….in fact for the past year Allen’s name can be found on the cover of tons of tabloids magazine for her “scandalous behavior,”  but now most of the media buzz is about her sopohomore album.
