UNC-Duke Rivalry Reheats, Tonight at 9

11 02 2009

College basketball fans get ready, because tonight is the first meeting of the year between the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The annual highlight of ESPN’s “Rivalry Week,” tips off at 9 p.m. tonight, and will feature the nation’s number three (UNC) and five (Duke) teams. The winner of tonight’s game, to be played at Cameron Indoor Stadium, will be in sole possesion of first place in the ACC.
There is a bit of an added incentive tonight for the Blue Devils- if they lose, UNC’s senior class—featuring Danny Green and Tyler Hansbrough—will have never lost a game at Cameron in their four years, an unheard of feat in the past 20 or so years.

The heated rivalry saw the two teams split last season’s pair of games, with each team winning on their rivals homecourt.

A few videos to get you ready for the action…

Prediction- UNC 87, Duke 79
