Last night the New York Rangers honored Adam Graves at a banner raising ceremony. They retired his famous #9 jersey and he will forever be in the rafters at Madison Square Garden.

The ceremony included former Ranger greats, such as Mike Richter, Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Eddie Giacomin and Rod Gilbert. It also included some cast members of the “Sopranos” because it is Graves’ favorite show.

During his time with the Rangers, Graves was a complete teammate. He helped bring the Rangers the ’94 Stanley Cup which had evaded them since 1940. He now works with the team as a community relations person. He deserved the celebration he received last night.
